What does a Sorcerer-Guardian do when his perfect world begins to crumble around him?

Ajay Samuels, a Sorcerer-Guardian, possesses the ultimate responsibility of protecting Ageron, Earth and the people who dwell within both lands. If that wasn't enough for this fifteen year old, he is also a member of the Altor; a group of seven, separate families, each a descendant of the original seven Guardians who were elected to govern and oversee all of Ageron.

As significant as these duties appear, there has never been any reason to protect anybody; Ageronian and Earthly alike. Nothing remotely interesting ever happens in Ageron. Even less happens on Earth. Ajay can't help but feel his supposed extraordinary power, apparently the greatest of their kind, is going to waste.

His world is turned upside down following the most unexpected of encounters with a nemesis he has had few dealings with before, and his perfect world begins to crumble in around him. Dedicating themselves to right what has gone so horribly wrong, and developing their new powers along the way, Ajay and his friends are thrust into a new world of the unknown; a world that brings with it potentially disastrous consequences.

ONE Sorcerer-Guardian. ONE premonition. ONE chance.

ALTOR The Shadow Rebellion is the first novel in The Chronicles of Ageron; a series for children, teens and young adults.

ALTOR The Shadow Rebellion The Chronicles of Ageron eBook L J deVet

The story itself was pretty interesting about three 15 year old sorcerers learning their abilities in a peaceful land that is actually part of Earth, but hidden to us. The story is linear and proceeds at a decent clip, but like another reviewer mentioned, it is quite wordy. Not just adjectives, but sentence structure could use some help. Maybe if I was in the 8-12 range, it would be okay, but the wordiness and re-use of phrases like 'corner of his eye' and his mind is going to explode with his questions was almost too much to allow me to continue. But I did make it to the end. Which, thankfully, is an end to a story and not a cliffhanger.

Since this book is a couple of years old now and his past has been children's picture books, I hope the author has learned more about sentence structure and grammar. I may find out if I take a chance on the further adventures of the Altor beings and their friends (and enemies).

The author does get 5 stars for spelling, almost a rarity in the inexpensive book arena. Thank You.

ALTOR The Shadow Rebellion The Chronicles of Ageron eBook L J deVet Reviews

Its been too long since I have stayed up at night because a book remains too good to put down. I would definitely suggest reading The Shadow Rebellion. Especially if you enjoy books like Harry Potter and even the Pendragon series. This book made for a truly enjoyable book!!!
I would highly recommend Altor The Shadow Rebellion, I found it to be a very well written book the author has written it in such a way that it draws you in to the story. I found it very hard to put down. I would recommend it for any one who likes to read fantasy books and it is aimed at all ages. I can't wait to read the sequel.
One of the top 5 books tha I've read for a year or so. The prose is magnificent, and, although the plot is complew, it's relatively easy to follow. I shall recommend this to everybody that I know. BrILLIANT. get it read,
The novel started with a good premise. The prologue was definitely fantastically dark. I loved some parts of the book especially the training; they were a real page-turner.

I had some issues with the consistency of this book. It started great but suddenly went downhill, then became interesting again at the near end.

The characters were great. Specifically, Ajay's Consor, Zaniel. There were a lot of characteristics which he possessed, and humor is unquestionably one of them.

I definitely felt a Harry Potter vibe while reading this. The 'envelishing' reminds me of Harry Potter's 'floo powder' except without the powder. And Ajay's friends remind me of Harry Potter's friends.

The second book is honestly something to look out for.
The author adds so many adjectives into the story that the reader gets lost. He spends too much time painting a picture and not enough time telling the story.
If you like Fantasy Novels, this is a must for your collection. It is surely the beginning of an epic series. It is a well written novel, and is thoroughly entertaining to read. Will keep my eyes peeled for a sequel.
This book is the best book in the world. I would recommend it to others because they would enjoy this book.
